Complaint about Quality Inn & Suites Orlando Airport
On March 17, 2025 around 9:15 PM my wife & I went to the Quality Inn & Suites Orlando Airport located at 2601 McCoy Rd., Orlando, FL 32809 to inquire about renting a room for the night. The price advertised on the internet was about $77. When my wife and I asked the attendant what the price would be, he told us it would be around $100, so we went back to our car and made an online reservation with my credit card information. The total was $86 and I assumed I had already paid for the night after putting in my CC info.
I went back in to the motel and showed the attendant my reservation. He then told me to insert my credit card into his cc processor. I expressed concern about being charged 2x but he said not to worry.

Upon checking into our room, my wife found what looked like blood stains on the mattress under the sheets. I haven’t seen a mattresses on the garbage as bad as this. There is no excuse for renting a room with such a disgusting mattress, hidden by sheets to unsuspecting customers.
We went to the front desk, told the attendant about the mattress and asked for another room. He sent someone to check on the mattress and they tried to claim it was ‘rust stains’. The attendant said the motel was full and claimed that he gave me a refund. It was 9.40 pm so we were left with no place to stay.
We gathered up our stuff and after driving off realized we left some stuff in the fridge so we went back. My wife went to the front desk and had to wait while the attendant checked other people into rooms. In my opinion, IF this attendant was renting rooms to other people without a reservation, after telling us the motel was full, that would mean he lied to us about the motel being full, instead of giving us another room.
In my opinion, if there were rooms available, the attendant should have given us another room. Failing to do so caused us a considerable inconvenience. We are seniors and were already tired from driving to Orlando. The last thing we expected was to be thrown out onto the street with no place to stay. It took us about an hour and some driving to find another motel at around 10.45 pm.

After checking into another motel, I checked my bank account and as I had feared, found I got CHARGED TWICE. So I had to waste more time calling and talking with a Choice Hotel Customer service rep to have BOTH charges removed.
As of today, March 20, 2025 both charges of $86.06 from Quality Inn Orlando are showing in my checking account.
I feel my wife & I have been victimized by being rented a room with a mattress not fit for a DOG to sleep on, failing to give us another room, being left with no place to stay, being forced to drive around looking for another motel at 10 o-clock at night, charging my credit card TWICE for a room we didn’t even use and not having access to funds (almost $200) which should have immediately been refunded.
I feel Choice Hotels should give us enough points so we can get a room for several nights free of charge to make up for the inconvenience we suffered.
