Hate Cpanel Jupiter Theme

I hate the Cpanel Jupiter Theme and think it SUCKS. If you agree, post your comments below and I’ll send them to Cpanel to let them know how people hate’s their Jupiter Theme. Hopefully if enough people complains, they’ll make an updated version of the paper lantern theme or others.

I complained to my hosting company, Hostgator and they said there’s nothing they can do about it so the only way to fix this is to barrage Cpanel with complaints.

Facebook Friend Request from “Imposter Friend” with $150K Scam

I received several Friend Request from an existing Friend which turned out to be an imposter trying to sell me on a $150K Scam

The friend requests had my friend’s name and photos exactly as it looked on their existing account. At first, I thought they created a new Facebook account for some reason so I accepted their friend requests.

Soon afterwards, I received a chat message from one of her new accounts. I hadn’t spoken to this friend for a few years. The chat started out with the usual types of messages such as how have you been and stuff where we’re exchanging messages. I sent a photo of me & my wife, our son and our new home.

Then she says;

“I really have some good news to share with you if you don’t mind?”

I wrote back and sent a message with my phone number saying I was available to talk.  She didn’t call. About 15 minutes later, I get the messages below;

“Have you heard about the federal government grant organization set up to help people financially with money all over the states for hearing, semi-retire, retired, old, disable, widows, divorced and workers. Do you get any mail from them?”

I was puzzled by that message because I’m not old or retired and neither is she. I wrote back and said “No”. Then she sends this message;

“It’s a new program, it was sponsored by the government in conjunction with the world bank to help people in the society to meet up their needs, I got $150,000 delivered to me at my doorstep when I applied for the program and you don’t have to pay it back.”

I wrote her back and said thanks, but I don’t need anything because I recently received a large inheritance. She wrote back and said I should apply anyway”. I wrote back and said “thanks, but no thanks”.  She wrote back and said she may be visiting us sometime this years and we ended the chat.

By now, I’m suspicions, so I sent a chat to my friend’s old account which had been active for several years, with copies of the messages I received, asking if she sent them. Several hours later, she confirmed that she didn’t send them and was shocked to find that someone was using her identity and photos for a scam.

I unfriended the imposter and followed the instructions on Reporting someone pretending to be someone else on Facebook Messenger

Report someone pretending to be you or someone else on Messenger | Facebook Help Center

Accounts that pretend to be you or someone else aren’t allowed in Messenger.

In a few hours, I noticed that Facebook had shut the imposter’s account down.

I’m a bit concerned about having sent recent photos of me & my wife, son (who’s in college) and home to the imposter. Fortunately, they don’t have my home address.

Am not sure what the object of the scam is, but I’m glad I didn’t “apply” and give the scammer any of my financial info. Am very fortunate to not need $150K.

BBB Scam Alert: Watch out for Facebook “friends” pushing phony COVID grants

“Watch out for Facebook “friends” pushing phony COVID grants”

“You get a Facebook Messenger chat or Instagram direct message that looks like it comes from a friend, relative, community member, or other person you trust. The message is telling you about a grant for COVID-19 relief. Your “friend” may claim to have already applied and received thousands of dollars.

Scammers are either hacking social media accounts or creating separate lookalike profiles by stealing photos and personal information. Either way, these con artists are banking that you will trust a message that appears to come from someone you know. For example, one recent victim was contacted by someone posing as a leader in their church. “This scam was very convincing. [It looked like it came from] someone I know and trust,” they wrote. “Because of COVID-19, I’m laid off, so I would try it. [The scammer] said my name was on a list to receive this grant money. I lost $1,000.00 of my unemployment.”

While many people report being targeted through social media, that’s not the only way scammers are reaching potential victims. Other versions of this scam use phone calls and text messages.

No matter how you hear about a “grant,” there’s a major catch! To get the “grant,” you need to pay upfront first. The scammer will claim the money pays for “delivery” or “processing.” The scammer will take the money, and your grant will never materialize”.

Facebook scams damaging wallets and reputations

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A former elected official for 20 years and Omaha businessman far longer, Marc Kraft took more than a pension into retirement. “My name is all I have to pass onto the next generation,” Kraft said. The former city councilman, then county commissioner, no longer deals with government funds.

Per the article above: Facebook scams damaging wallets and reputations;

“Being on Marc’s Facebook friends list, I got a phony message that he received a $150,000 grant and I could get the same.

This is where a hijacked Facebook page reveals a scammer is no friend — by encouraging you to clock on a link that instead of getting you free money, grants access to your personal information.

The Better Business Bureau warns a link click can allow scammers into your financial life.

“It can take you off the platform to a site in which malware can be downloaded onto your desktop, which more lucrative accounts from a scammer’s perspective can be infiltrated,” said Josh Planos of the BBB”.

The $150K scam I encountered may be a variation of one of the above scams –

Google / Youtube False Copyright Claims

I recorded a song on my Player Piano called Charley My Boy (published in 1924) which I posted on YouTube and it got flagged as Copyrighted content by Mi Muchacho Carlitos – Claimed by: LatinAutorPerf

Since Charley My Boy was published in 1924, there no way “Mi Muchacho Carlitos” (who I never heard of) should have any claim to this old song. This demonstrates how FLAWED Youtube’s content ID system is.

I filed a dispute and YouTube ruled in my favor.

What Is a YouTube False Copyright Claim? 4.4 Million Happen Every Year

A new YouTube copyright transparency report reveals the company overturned nearly 5 million false copyright claims last year.

Per the above article: YouTube false copyright claims approached 2.2 million in six months – or nearing 4.4 million annually.

A new copyright transparency report published by YouTube reveals the numbers. Those 2.2 million videos were later reinstated after YouTube determined the copyright claims were ‘incorrect.’ Those incorrect claims represent less than 1% of the more than 729 million total copyright claims issued in that six-month period (Jan. -June 2021).

Amazon Sucks for Putting Refund on a Gift Card

Amazon Sucks for selling me a defective KODAK Slide N SCAN Film Scanner, then STEALING my refund by putting it on a Amazon Gift Card.

Amazon Sold me a defective KODAK Slide N SCAN Film Scanner. After unpacking the Slide N SCAN Film Scanner I found that the Unit only displayed “USB Upload”. None of the buttonS worked except “OK” because the RGB button was stuck in the down position. This was a real inconvenience. I waited for for days… it gets here and it’s defective.

I immediately pack it back up, filled out a Amazon return on their site, told them I want a refund and had do a screen capture of the mailing label because they didn’t send a downloadable PDF file which could be printed out (more inconvenience).

Days went by while I kept checking to see if the refund of $192 went back into my bank account. After several days and no refund I went on Amazon’s site, checked the order details and was shocked and outraged to find they had put my $192 in a Gift Card! WFT! I was so pissed off I was shaking because to me, $192 is a LOT of money which I needed back ASAP.

I called their support and had to deal with a robot which did everything possible to keep me from connecting with a REAL human. After yelling “Customer Support” over and over I finally got through to a lady with a very foreign accent who I could hardly understand. She said “no worries”, she should would refund my money. After a couple of days, the money was back in my bank account.

Amazon should refund money to it’s original funding source by default. This Gift Card bullshit seems like a scam and a way to keep your money, then make you jump through hoops to get it back.

This has made me not trust or like Amazon and I’ll avoid doing business with them in the future.

Floridaresidentsdirectory.com Failing to Remove People’s Personal Data

I did a search for my name and the only site which it was being displayed was Floridaresidentsdirectory.com. I submitted a opt-out request and that was 2 months ago.

Today, November 28, 2021 I did a search for my name and it was STILL showing at Floridaresidentsdirectory.com. I tried submitting another opt-out request and got a message saying a opt-out request had already been submitted.

After submitting the removal request today I noticed that I could no longer view the site.

I did some investigating about floridaresidentsdirectory.com and found complaints all over the internet.

Below are a few posted at sitejabber.com/reviews/floridaresidentsdirectory.com indicating they are failing removing people’s data.

Better Business Bureau Failing to Give F’s to Businesses Which Deserve It

Featured Video Play Icon

The above 20/20 report from around 2010 exposes how some businesses felt the Better Business Bureau was engaging in a “pay to play” scheme where-by unless they paid to be a member, they were given F’s.

Now, in 2021 the Better Business Bureau is failing to give F’s to Businesses which deserves bad scores due to having tons of complaints & failing to respond to complaints.

For example, I filed a complaint against a company called “Binance” to the BBB on April 27, 2021. After weeks with no response, on 5/19/21, I received a email from the BBB indicating that Binance.us had ignored my complaint and not responded.

BTW, the BBB’s website indicates 167 complaints were filed against Binance during the last 12 months yet BBB gave them a NR for “Not Rated”.

Also my complaint is no where to be found on BBB’s website and only about 4 complaints are visible to the public out of 168.

I can’t help be wonder if the reason the BBB hasn’t given Binance an “F” and aren’t showing all of the complaints is because they are AFRAID of getting sued!

Here’s some of the negative reviews posted about Binance on BBB’s website;

Above are reviews posted about Binance which in my opinion, proves they deserve a “F” rating.

I called BBB around 6/15/21 and asked them why my complaint wasn’t visible and why they gave Binance a NR rating when they’ve had so many complaints and failed to respond to complaints filed against them. The guy I talk to said he would refer the matter to the branch manager. To date, nothing has been done about the issues I raised.

It seems to me that the Better Business Bureau is letting the public down and failing to do their job by not to giving F’s to Businesses which deserve it.

You can read my full complaint about Binance by visiting this page;

Seeking Attorney to Sue Binance for Refusing to Delete Account

Slammed by the government, A-rated by the Better Business Bureau

A mortgage broker charged by federal regulators with discriminating against minority borrowers. A financial firm accused in an ongoing federal lawsuit of preying on seniors. A medical testing company that settled charges of paying kickbacks to doctors. And a vitamin maker that allegedly misled parents with claims that its supplements could treat symptoms of autism.

How the Better Business Bureau rakes in millions

That approval, known as “accreditation,” doesn’t come cheap. In 2013 alone, the organization raked in nearly $200 million in revenue — most of which comes from the very businesses it oversees, according to a CNNMoney analysis of IRS filings from the BBB’s 102 U.S. bureaus and national office.

Twitter Could Be Sued for Double Standards

Here Are Twitter’s Latest Excuses as to Why It Lets Donald Trump Break Its Rules Constantly

Twitter is never, ever going to ban Donald Trump for reasons ranging from the self-apparent (he’s the president, and a conspiracy-obsessed one at that) to perhaps the cynical (whether or not his incessant tweeting helps the company’s bottom line).

Donald Trump routinely violates Twitters Rules & Terms of Service. It seems to me that Twitter could be class action sued for millions by people who’s accounts were banned for things they allow Trump to get away with.

Also, since they are giving Trump preferential treatment and failing to enforce their TOS on him, it seems people who has been slandered and defamed by Trump could sue Twitter for his abusive & defamatory tweets.

Trump has the largest reach of anyone in the world, therefore, IMO his abusive, defamatory & slanderous comments carries the maximum about of weight and liability. Therefore, it seems those who he has defamed & slandered should be able to sue him for everything he’s got. If he used twitter, since they are allowing him to engage in abusive conduct unchecked, & is failing to enforce their TOS on him, they should be included in the lawsuit.

I’m surprised this isn’t being discussed more and lawsuits hasn’t been already filed (to my knowledge).

REPRESENTATIVE DEVIN NUNES LAWSUIT AGAINST TWITTER

What’s next in Devin Nunes’ lawsuit against Twitter, fake cow?

Rep. Devin Nunes’ lawsuit against Twitter is moving forward in Virginia, but expect more legal challenges to unfold before the California Republican gets a chance to make his case in a courtroom. Two of the defendants – Twitter and Republican political strategist Liz Mair – on Monday said they intend to continue fighting Nunes’ lawsuit in Virginia’s Henrico County Circuit Court.

Per the above article about Congressional Representative Devin Nunes’ lawsuit against twitter;

“Judge John Marshall dealt Twitter a setback when he rejected the company’s argument that Nunes had no grounds to sue the San Francisco social media company in Virginia. Twitter argued the case had to be tried in a California court.

After Marshall’s ruling, a Twitter spokesman in a written statement said the company “continues to dispute the claims raised by Congressman Nunes. We enforce the Twitter Rules impartially for all users, regardless of their background or political affiliation. We are constantly working to improve our systems and will continue to be transparent in our efforts.”

In my opinion, the above statement made by Twitter that they enforce Twitter Rules impartially for all users is a bombshell FALSE statement. President Donald Trump routinely violates Twitter’s Terms of Service, yet they give him preferential treatment by not banning his account. Giving him preferential treatment is unfair to all other twitter users.

It seems to me that Twitter could & should be class action sued for for everything they’ve got by people who’s accounts they banned for things they allow Trump to get away with.

California Judge Rules Twitter CAN Be Sued for Falsely Advertising Free Speech

A California judge has ruled that Twitter’s policy of banning users “at any time, for any reason or for no reason” may constitute an “unconscionable contract”, and that a lawsuit against the company brought by self-described “white advocate” Jared Taylor may proceed on that basis.

Per the above article, a “California Judge Rules Twitter CAN Be Sued for Falsely Advertising Free Speech. Twitter’s policy of banning users “at any time, for any reason or for no reason” may constitute an “unconscionable contract”, and that a lawsuit against the company brought by self-described “white advocate” Jared Taylor may proceed on that basis”.

Copy of the post is shown below…

Is this a scam? What should I do? from freelance

The web designer from that post received the exact same message I received saying;

Here’s a copy of the same message he received;

After finding this post, I ceased communications with the person claiming to be “Samson B. Walter”

This appears to be one of those scams where they send a check or money order over the amount due, then expect you to send them the difference which they pocket and the check or money order they sent bounces and u get screwed.

US Case Against MegaUpload Weak

MegaUpload is no more guilty of pirated content than Youtube and it seems the US Government is singling out MegaUpload. It can be proven that MegaUpload removes copyrighted material when reported to them. Just like Youtube, MegaUpload is protected by the Communications Decency Act.

The CDA provides that when a user writes and posts material on an “interactive website” such as MegaUpload, Youtube, AOL, Facebook, etc the site itself cannot be held legally responsible for the posted material. 47 U.S.C. § 230(c)(1) states, “No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be treated as the publisher or speaker of any information provided by another information content provider.” Most of youtube’s content could be considered illegally pirated content.

In 2006, during Google’s effort to buy YouTube, Viacom says that Ethan Anderson, International Business Product Manager for Google Video, stated: “I can’t believe you’re recommending buying YouTube. . . . they’re 80% illegal pirated content.” Viacom sued Youtube and lost because of the Communications Decency Act.

This article in Wikipedia sites many examples of court cases which upheld website owner’s immunity for responsibility of copyrighted, pirated and even personal defamatory material posted by users and subscribers…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Section_230_of_the_Communications_Decency_Act

The Communications Decency Act is considered to be a “Loophole” by the Music and Film Industry which they were hoping to close by the passage of SOPA and PIPA.

Flippa Alternative

I have several complaints about Flippa.com Marketplace for Buying and Selling Websites.

First, their fee of $19 per site or domain just to create a listing.

Then, to get your listing to stand out amoung the thousands of other listings they charge $50 to feature your listing on the front page of Flippa “for a limited period” (quoted right from thier site).  They don’t specify weather it’s for a day, a few hours or any specific period of time.

If you want a screenshot of your site to appear alongside your listing, that costs an extra $20 and a Listing title in bold costs an extra $5

Flippa.com has so many listings that unless you pay extra to have your site featured and bolded, it’s unlikely that many buyers will even see your site.

If your site don’t sell, then all the money you spent getting your site listed goes down the toilet.

If your site does sell, then you have to pay a “Success Fee” of 5% X what ever your site sells for.  For instance, if your site sells for $10,000 you owe Flippa an extra $500 on top of all the listing fees you already paid.

I hate how they allow people to post negative comments on website auction ad details.  I hate how Flippa’s website shows the number of times I delete comments posted on my auction making it seems that I may have something to hide, even though the comments I delete is posted by idiots who seems to enjoy discrediting people’s web sites.

As of today’s date, Flippa.com’s webiste claims they have had $64,000,350 in website sales.  If they collected 5% success fees of $64 Million Dollars, that’s a lot of money to go into the pockets of the owners of Flippa.com.

Fortunately there’s now a new alternative called SiteFlipAuctions.com , which has NO SUCCESS fees.  Regular listings are only $9.00 and their featured listing upgrade is only $9.00 (Flippa charges $50).

Since the site is new, they are offering FREE listings for the 1st 200 site auction listings.

USfreeads Review Complaints

In March 2011 I paid USFreeAds.com $9.95 to place some ads. Although they claim to be free, you have to pay so I think the name is misleading.

In April 2011 I logged into my paypal account and found that they charged me $9.95 for another month. I sent them a email with a copy of the statement, told them I canceled the subscription and asked them for a refund. Days went by and no reply so I called paypal and told them I wanted a refund. Paypal said they would contact USFreeAds and asked them to refund my money.

More days went by and no reply or refund from USFreeAds. So I took it up and notch and told them I wanted my money back or complaints would be filed to Paypal, the Attorney General’s office, the Federal Trade Commission & to places like the Rip Off Report, ComplaintsBoard, My3cents, etc

Again no response from USFreeAds but what they did was to LOCK MY ACCOUNT with NO refund.

THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE ROTTEN UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT.

I even filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and USFreeAds didn’t respond to BBB’s several requests for a response.

I did some checking and found complaints posted by other people about USFreeAds who said they are a rip off, they have non-existant customer service, that they fail to give refunds and fail to return emalis.

Here’s a few of the complaints I found…

“Usfreeads.com Scam – Do Not Use USFreeads Ever usfreeads, usfreeads.com, us free ads UK Internet”

No Title

“USFreeads.com Uses bait and switch tactics. Advertises you can place free ads, then require you to place a paid ad. Internet”

Ripoff Report | USFreeads.com Review – , Internet – Usfreeadscom uses

Ripoff Report on: USFreeads.com – Usfreeadscom uses bait and switch tactics advertises you can place free ads then require to a paid ad internet

My opinion is that USFreeAds SUCKS and should be put out of business. Any “company” which does not answer customers emails and fails to give a refund when a customer wishes to cancel should NOT be in business.

Consider this… do you ever see USFreeAds showing up on page 1 of ANY of the search engines for anything?

None of the ads I posted at USFreeAds showed up on the 1st page of ANY of the search engines like Google, Yahoo & MSN so posting ads at USFreeAds is a complete WASTE OF TIME & MONEY

If you have had problems getting a reply to your email or recieved no refund when requested from USFreeAds, you can file complaints to Paypal, the FTC, your state’s Attorney General’s office and post your story at this site and others like Rip Off Report, ComplaintsBoard, My3cents, etc

Cell Phone Misuse by Buisness

Do you ever get solicitor calls?  Who hasn’t?  But now that they are doing it through your cell phone text message service, and it cost you money just to receive them to find out who it is, what they want, and how to stop them.  I called my cell phone company, and asked them to put a block on solicitation to all the phones we have on our account.  I still keep getting these messages!

So I “replied” to the last one I found, asking them to stop sending me text messages, as it cost me money every time I receive them.  Well, of course I expected a reply stating they would no longer send me messages, but it doesn’t stop there!  I then text’d them back saying that any and all charges that they have accrued on my account would be reversed right back to them.

They are sending me generic messages, which leads me to believe that the company itself is not replying, but a computer!  Ok, so in this day and age of computers, maybe I should expect nothing less.  But, in this economy, I”m looking to save money in any way, shape or form I can! And these companies are spending that savings without a thought!  They are taking advantage of me and mine!  Is life ever fare?

HyperVRE Affiliate Program is Flawed

I have referred over 150 people to Matt the owner of HyperVRE and only received a commission for about 10.

I would bet that a lot of these referrals bought the upgrade later and I didn’t receive my due commission. There is no internal affiliate tracking system to tell if any of my referrals later purchased the upgrade. That is WRONG and very unfair. It would be easy for Matt to track all referrals.

I’ve read complaints from other affiliates who also makes lots of referrals but rarely gets paid anything.

The owner of HyperVRE always wins because each referral gets added to his optin list.

Most of the time I get NOTHING out of my referral except a “Congratulations, You just made a referral” email.

HyperVRE has the most flawed and unfair affiliate program I have encountered on the internet. I have stopped referring people because I’m sick & tired of never getting paid anything and helping build Matt Cullen’s list.

I think Matt should pay affiliates for each referral since we are helping him build his list
