Sling TV Sucks for Repeatedly Running CNBC Commercial

Posted on October 18, 2023February 22, 2024 by annoying ads

This CNBC AD is the WORST, most ANNOYING and POORLY DESIGNED in the history of Television. The NOISE (not music) on this ad is like banging a hammer on a trash can.

IMO, those responsible for designing the ad, creating the NOISE and responsible for repeatedly airing it should be FIRED. Anyone can see how badly designed the ad is so it should have never been approved and released.

This ad may violate Loud Commercial Standards and the CALM Act (Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act).

Here’s what an advertising executive had to say about the ad;

Note how he says “assault viewers with the same ad dozens of times per day” and the “music is insanely grating and annoying”.

We used to make a mad dash to hit the mute every time it was played (and it gets played during EVERY commercial break). Now, we mute ALL MSNBC ads so we don’t have to hear it.

Since the beginning of 2023, this ad has been shown a ZILLION times so viewers are FED UP with it. It’s not only disrespectful to subject SLING & MSNBC viewers to repeatedly run this annoying ad, but it’s also costing other advertisers views due ALL ads getting muted by people who can’t stand the IN-YOUR-FACE-NOISE from this commercial.

We’re not alone. Other people HATES it.

It’s really a pain in the ass having to mute all MSNBC commercials during every commercial break to avoid hearing the noise from the CNBC commercial.

I used to think MSNBC was responsible for running this annoying CNBC ad during every break until my family went on vacation and found it wasn’t showing at the Hilton hotel we were staying at.

I saw this post confirming that SLING TV is responsible for running this annoying ad.

This proves that SLING TV is responsible for running this annoying ad during every commercial break. CNBC is also responsible for allowing SLING TV to run the ad during every commercial break.

Watch any show on MSNBC using SLING TV and you’ll see & hear the CNBC commercial. If you watch it a few times, it may not seem that annoying. But imagine how annoying it is for viewers who watch MSNBC every day… this horribly produced annoying ad, being run month after month, day after day, during every single commercial break.

There’s complaints posted all over the internet about SLING TV repeatedly showing the same ad during every commercial break for other programs.

There’s 479 reviews for Sling TV on Sitejabber.com and visitors gave Sling a 1.2 stars rating. One visitor posted ‘my recent encounter with them suggests that they have become excessively profit-driven, bombarding viewers with an overwhelming number of commercials. During my attempt to watch just two episodes of Gold Rush, I was subjected to an astonishing 40+ COMMERCIALS.

A May 8, 2023 Digitaltrends.com article stated; ‘Sling TV is at its lowest number of subscribers in 5 years’.

It appears the primary cause of customers being unhappy and leaving SLING TV is due to their abusing customers with too many commercials and showing the SAME commercials during every commercial break, as I have pointed out in this letter.

SLING TV repeatedly showing this horrible, annoying, loud commercial during every commercial break is making their service almost un-usable. We’re stuck having to put up with it because SLING TV is the only streaming service we can find which is affordable ($45 per month range) and carries MSNBC & CNN. We have significantly decreased watching MSNBC via SLING TV due to the ad and it being such an inconvenience having to mute it during every commercial break. We’re instead, watching replays on YouTube.

NBC/Universal should DEMAND SLING TV stop abusing their customers because it’s decreasing MSNBC’s viewers and ratings.

Viewers have a right to watch MSNBC without being ‘assaulted’ and abused with the most annoying commercial on TV during every commercial break. If your FED UP with SLING repeatedly running this CNBC ad (or any others), you can send complaints to executives I sent complaints to, listed below.

Seeing the same streaming ads over and over? There’s a fix for that

“Frequency caps” are supposed to solve this problem-but it’s complicated.
