The biggest chemical cover up in history. PFAS has polluted the entire global water system. Now, potentially dangerous forever chemicals are being found in the entire US population.

PFAS chemicals, or Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances, are a large group of human-made chemicals with a strong carbon-fluorine bond that makes them resistant to heat and chemicals, earning them the name “forever chemicals” because they do not easily break down in the environment or the human body. These chemicals are found in many common products, including nonstick cookware, food packaging, stain-resistant carpets, and firefighting foam, and can lead to serious health issues such as certain cancers, reproductive problems, and immune system effects.
Why are they a concern?

“Forever Chemicals”: The strong carbon-fluorine bond makes PFAS extremely stable and resistant to breaking down, leading to their persistence in the environment and accumulation in the human body. Widespread Exposure: Due to their use in many products and their ability to contaminate air, water, and soil, widespread exposure to PFAS is common in the U.S. population.

Adverse Health Effects: Studies have linked PFAS exposure to a range of health problems, including:

Increased risk of certain cancers (kidney and testicular)
Reproductive and developmental issues
Immune system effects and interference with vaccine effectiveness
Liver and kidney damage
Thyroid hormone disruption

Where are PFAS found?
PFAS are used in hundreds of products, including:

Food Packaging: Some grease-resistant paper, fast food containers, and microwave popcorn bags.
Cookware: Nonstick cookware.
Clothing and Textiles: Stain-resistant carpets, upholstery, and water-repellent clothing.
Firefighting Foam: Aqueous Film-Forming Foams (AFFF) used at airports, military bases, and other sites.
Other Products: Cosmetics, cleaning products, and some paints.

How do you get exposed?
Exposure can happen through:

Contaminated Water and Food: Drinking water contaminated with PFAS from manufacturing facilities or consuming foods like seafood, meat, and dairy grown in contaminated areas.

Contact with Products: Using products coated in PFAS, such as nonstick pans or clothing.
Environmental Contamination: Living near manufacturing facilities or areas where firefighting foams have been used extensively.
