Seeking Attorney to Sue Binance for Refusing to Delete Account
On April 27, 2021 I made the mistake of beginning to sign up for an account with Binance.us.
First, they demanded I give them my address, phone number, Social Security number and Drivers License. When they demanded I take a photo of myself and send it to them, I sent a email to their support, demanding they delete all of the personal information I gave them. Their having a recent a photo of me, plus all of the other personal info I sent them could put me at risk of being a victim of identity theft.
I immediately began investigating Binance & I found complaints all over the internet about them refusing to delete people’s accounts & data, freezing accounts, seizing people’s currencies and ignoring support tickets.
I searched for a way on the internet to close my account and have it deleted since there isn’t a method listed on their site. I found a post which said they will not close & delete your info. Below is a sceeenshot –
I also found complaints from other people saying they have thousands of dollars FROZEN in their binance accounts.
I have never heard of a company refusing the close and delete a customer’s account upon request. Seems like such conduct may be illegal.

I then filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau on the same day (April 27, 2021) about Binance.us in which I demanded they delete my personal data. On 5/19/21, I received a email from the BBB indicating that Binance.us had ignored my complaint and not responded. BTW, BBB indicates 166 complaints were filed against Binance during the last 12 months.

World’s largest crypto exchange Binance is reportedly under investigation
The world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange Binance is under investigation by the Internal Revenue Service and the US Department of Justice, reports Bloomberg. A Binance spokesperson said the company takes its “legal obligations very seriously. “
News reports released on May 13, 2021 indicated Binance is being investigated by the United States Dept of Justice and the IRS. This increased my concern of them having my personal data / info.
Per the above article; “Binance Holdings Ltd. is under investigation by the Justice Department and Internal Revenue Service, ensnaring the world’s biggest cryptocurrency exchange in U.S. efforts to root out illicit activity that’s thrived in the red-hot but mostly unregulated market. The firm, like the industry it operates in, has succeeded largely outside the scope of government oversight. Binance is incorporated in the Cayman Islands and has an office in Singapore but says it lacks a single corporate headquarters. Chainalysis Inc., a blockchain forensics firm whose clients include U.S. federal agencies, concluded last year that among transactions that it examined, more funds tied to criminal activity flowed through Binance than any other crypto exchange”.
In the post above a support person for Binance says when asked about their address “We are sorry to inform you that due to security reasons, we are not able to disclose any company information including the company mailing address”.
Above is a screenshot from another person who complained how Binance refused to delete their personal data.

The above lawsuit alleges Binance caused the plaintiff over $300,000 in losses of digital currencies. I spoke with the Attorney (Anne K. Edwards) and she sent me a PDF (screenshot below) with names & contact info of attorneys for Binance.
I sent emails to each of the above attorneys and asked them to have Binance delete my data. All 3 attorneys ignored my emails.
It’s an outrage how articles claim Binance is one of the top crypto currency organizations in the world yet they don’t have physical location or a phone number listed anyplace.
On 5/14/21, I received a email from Binance support stating that they would NOT delete any of my personal info from their database.
Here’s a list of reasons why Binance should delete my account;
- Binance did not make it abundantly clear before I began signing up and on their home page that I would have to send them a copy of my driver’s license and a photo of myself.
- If Binance had made it clear before I began signing up and on their homepage that they required a copy of my driver’s license and a photo of myself, I have left their site & not have signed up.
- When Binance demanded I send them a photo of myself, I stopped signing up and immediately sent them an email telling them I wanted ALL of the info I sent them deleted. (I have a copy of the email I sent)
- It’s outrageous that they are refusing to delete my personal information when I didn’t finished signing up, the account was never used and I have no intentions of ever using the account or doing business with them.
- Since I didn’t finished signing up, the account was never used and I have no intentions of ever using the account or doing business with them, they have no valid reason NOT to delete my personal info.
- This is a violation of my civil rights and rights to privacy
- This has put me at risk of being a victim of identity theft
Here’s a list of places I filed complaints to date;

I think Binance’s refusal to delete a customer’s personal info shows they feel they can thumb their nose at customers, get away with anything and are accountable to no one.
A business which takes people money but fails to post their address & phone number on their site, fails to provide a easy way for a consumer to close / delete their info is a ROUGE business which is a menace to the public and should be put out of business. IMO, they are behaving like a criminal organization.
I will not feel safe until all of my personal data has been removed from Binance’s possession and will pursue this matter until the United States Government (or law firm representing me) verifies that my personal data has been removed from Binance’s possession. I’ll post updates on this page with any new info which develops.
If you have any info you’d like to add such their addresses, phones numbers or complaints, feel free to post your comments at the bottom of this page in the facebook comments area.
