Amazon Sucks for Putting Refund on a Gift Card
Amazon Sucks for selling me a defective KODAK Slide N SCAN Film Scanner, then STEALING my refund by putting it on a Amazon Gift Card.
Amazon Sold me a defective KODAK Slide N SCAN Film Scanner. After unpacking the Slide N SCAN Film Scanner I found that the Unit only displayed “USB Upload”. None of the buttonS worked except “OK” because the RGB button was stuck in the down position. This was a real inconvenience. I waited for for days… it gets here and it’s defective.
I immediately pack it back up, filled out a Amazon return on their site, told them I want a refund and had do a screen capture of the mailing label because they didn’t send a downloadable PDF file which could be printed out (more inconvenience).
Days went by while I kept checking to see if the refund of $192 went back into my bank account. After several days and no refund I went on Amazon’s site, checked the order details and was shocked and outraged to find they had put my $192 in a Gift Card! WFT! I was so pissed off I was shaking because to me, $192 is a LOT of money which I needed back ASAP.
I called their support and had to deal with a robot which did everything possible to keep me from connecting with a REAL human. After yelling “Customer Support” over and over I finally got through to a lady with a very foreign accent who I could hardly understand. She said “no worries”, she should would refund my money. After a couple of days, the money was back in my bank account.
Amazon should refund money to it’s original funding source by default. This Gift Card bullshit seems like a scam and a way to keep your money, then make you jump through hoops to get it back.
This has made me not trust or like Amazon and I’ll avoid doing business with them in the future.
