What Is a YouTube False Copyright Claim? 4.4 Million Happen Every Year

A new YouTube copyright transparency report reveals the company overturned nearly 5 million false copyright claims last year.

Per the above article: YouTube false copyright claims approached 2.2 million in six months – or nearing 4.4 million annually.

Those 2.2 million videos were later reinstated after YouTube determined the copyright claims were ‘incorrect.’ Those incorrect claims represent less than 1% of the more than 729 million total copyright claims issued in that six-month period (Jan. -June 2021).
